Organized by the Azerbaijan Banks Association and the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, and in global partnership with Visa, “FINTEX SUMMIT 2025 – Finance and Technologies Exhibition” has officially concluded.
Dedicated to the theme “New Trends in the Banking and Financial Ecosystem: Digital Integration, Fintech Partnerships, and Cybersecurity,” this international summit serves as a leading platform for digital transformation and innovation-driven collaboration in the region.
Launched on June 24, 2025, and spanning two days, the Summit focused on key areas such as the adoption of financial technologies, digital payment ecosystems, the use of artificial intelligence in banking, open banking, regtech solutions, and the evolving models of bank-fintech collaboration. Discussions were held across 7 thematic panels, with particular attention also given to cybersecurity and the challenges of data protection in the digital environment.
The event brought together nearly 300 international and regional companies from the United States, the European Union, the CIS, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific regions. In total, over 1,500 participants attended, including representatives from government institutions, commercial banks, fintech companies, payment technology providers, investors, diplomatic missions, and academic institutions.
As part of the Summit, Memorandums of Understanding were signed between the Azerbaijan Banks Association and the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan, as well as between the Credit Bureaus of Turkic States, aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation.
The event also featured a stamp cancellation ceremony dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA).
President of the ABA and organizer of the Summit, Zakir Nuriyev, shared his thoughts on the event, stating:
“FINTEX SUMMIT 2025 once again demonstrated that cooperation, innovation, and digital transformation in the financial sector are becoming increasingly important. We are pleased that Baku has become a regional platform where representatives of the banking sector, fintech companies, and regulatory institutions come together to discuss the future of finance. On behalf of the Azerbaijan Banks Association, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all partners, speakers, and participants who contributed to the success of this event.”
Nurlan Hajiyev, Visa’s Country Manager in Azerbaijan and representative of the Summit’s traditional Global Sponsor, highlighted the company’s commitment:
“At Visa, we share the commitment to building a resilient and innovative financial ecosystem in our country. This year’s Summit focused on expanding access to financial services, enhancing operational resilience, and adapting to the challenges of the digital economy — all of which are fully aligned with Visa’s strategic vision. Azerbaijan is a strategic market for us, where we’ve been operating for 28 years. We believe in the country’s potential and will continue introducing advanced solutions together with our local partners.”
It is worth noting that this two-day Summit is one of the two major international finance and banking events held annually in Baku — the other being the International Banking Forum. For more information: https://www.gbmevents.az/en/events
